All our professional and personal life has changed within the last two years. How was the Pandemic impacting our work and life and how will the future look for us? There is a huge space of debate and uncertainty today, on a large spectrum of topics and hot questions: remote versus office versus hybrid work – how do we decide on the best choice?; how do we measure performance?; the new trend of the four-days workweek – how far is this for us?; how do we (re)build our organizational cultures and (re)onboard everybody?; how people manage the stress, Zoom fatigue, depression and the other psychological effects of the remote work in isolation and how companies can help? how companies can adapt their employer branding strategies to the new reality?

DORU ȘUPEALĂ is a marketing, management and business consultant, Head of Marketing at an IT company and Managing Director at SPOR (Școala Pentru Oameni Responsabili/The School for Responsible People). He is a PhD student at Babeș Bolyai University with a thesis on the management of creativity and innovation. He is currently undertaking one of the most in-depth international academic research initiatives aimed at assessing how well equipped IT organizations are in terms of fostering an environment prone to creativity and innovation.

In 2019, he completed an Executive MBA „with Distinction“ at Hull University Business School, in the UK. He also holds a BA and an MA degree in marketing, both graduated from Babeș Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca. In the '90s, he graduated from the Faculty of Letters (Romanian-French), Transylvania University Brașov, He held positions such as director of marketing, communication or procurement in several local and multinational companies like Selgros, IKEA, Betfair Romania, Onyx Beacon, Ramada Brașov or InNuts Fund. Between 1993 and 2000, he worked as journalist and media manager (press, radio and TV) at ProTV and the Mix Media Radio Brașov group.

In 2021, he published a book on Employer Branding, (Employer Branding 100%, Curtea Veche Publishing House), the first book ever to be published in Romania on this topic and among the first books to cover this topic in the world. In 2017, he published a book on proximity marketing through mobile communications (Experiența face diferența/Experience Makes All the Difference, Libris Publishing House). He is a prolific author of academic research papers in magazines such as Forward Brașov, Today Software Magazine and Dimeon Magazine. He also holds a blog.

At SPOR, a school he founded in 2019, he is currently running a masterclass and a workshop on Employer Branding, and is also involved in various creativity experiments at „f(i) Fabrica de Idei“ (The Idea Factory) where he helps professionals, teams, and organizations practice and apply methodology in a hands-on, interactive, and fun environment in order to come up with new ideas.
